Important Car Hire Information


Before hiring with Drive Rent a Car Whitsunday, please read our Terms & Conditions.


  • Customers must be over 23 years old.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license, passport (if international) and credit cards, all with the same name and copies of travel insurance documents.
  • No debit cards or cash rentals taken.
  • We do not do one-way rentals; all vehicles must stay within Queensland unless authorised by owner* (unlimited rate) (conditions apply). Extra charge will apply.
  • Clients are responsible for all tolls, parking fines or speeding fines and any items missing from cars, e.g. tyres, jacks, covers, etc., and full cost of $2000 will apply.


Insurance


  • Insurance will not cover any driving on unsealed roads (conditions apply from management).
  • In case of accidents, renters must fill in a report within 24 hours (with a police report) and contact RACQ, which is in your booklet. We will assess the vehicle, and your excess insurance bond of $350 will go to our insurance company for future assessment. We do not control this situation.


Opening Hours


  • Cars must be picked up and dropped off during our opening hours, which are 8am–5pm Monday to Friday and 8am–12 noon on Saturday.
  • All weekend rentals will be charged at 2-day rate, for Monday morning drop-off by 9am.
